Modern software makes it easy to be shitty. Dark patterns manipulate you into subscriptions you don't want. Surveillance capitalism rewards harvesting your data. Platforms take 30% cuts while creators do all the work. Apps optimize for "engagement" — a polite word for addiction.

The term for this is enshittification: platforms start good, extract value from users to grow, then squeeze everyone dry once they're locked in.

We think it doesn't have to be this way. Software can respect your attention, protect your privacy, and charge fair prices. It just takes choosing to build it that way.
